#18-September 2008

Kia Ora from DOCNZ.
DOCNZ Focus is gaining momentum with the upcoming screening of Rock N Roll Nerd. Guess who will be on the discussion panel to follow the screening? DOCNZ 2009 has a new media partner and we are accepting advertising for the festival's programme. Here is the latest from the DOCNZ hub.

The DOCNZ Team

1. DOCNZ Focus - Meet Jaquie Brown and Te Radar on 30th Sept

The next screening of DOCNZ Focus, a society for documentary films, will be held on 30th Sept at 6:30pm at the Academy Cinemas.

Rock N Roll Nerd is a rare record of the rise of unique Australian comedian and musician Tim Minchin. The film premiered at the recent Melbourne International Film Festival and was a huge success.

Attending the screening of Rock N Roll Nerd and participating in the panel discussion following the film are: Jaquie Brown (The Jaquie Brown Diaries), Gerard Johnstone (director, writer and co-creator of The Jaquie Brown Diaries), Te Radar (comedian and filmmaker), Caterina De Nave (head of drama and comedy production at TV3), and Kylie Aitchison (director of NZ International Comedy Festival).

You can win Rock N Roll Nerd tickets by telling The Hive your nerd-iest moment! (until 24th Sept)

Also, check out the competition in this week (14 Sept) Auckland City CityScene.

In addition to the annual membership (12 months from day of joining) we now offer a 3 Film Sampler so you could choose any 3 DOCNZ Focus films you wish to attend. For more information and to register online, click here.
